303. When Lord Krishna leaked the Exam Paper to Arjuna…!!!!!!!

Bhishma was struck by the arrows from Arjuna, in the Great War and he fell down from his chariot. The arrows had pierced the chest of the grand old man in such a way that his body was unable to touch the ground when he fell from the chariot. As he remained lying on the support of the arrows and his head was hanging. He requested Arjuna to make some provision and Arjuna immediately stuck three arrows to the ground beneath Bhishma’s head to support it.

Bhishma had to suffer the pangs on the bed of arrows for a little while in the battlefield before merging with the source. He was blessed with the boon of Iccha Mrithyu (death when desired) by his father Santanu. Now the question that starts to rise in everyone’s mind is what was the karmic reason behind the physical sufferings of Bhishma? He had never committed any sin in his entire life span as the guardian of the massive Karu vamsha.

This question was answered by Lord Krishna himself. He pointed out to a folly committed by the person sleeping on the bed of arrows in one of his previous births by inflicting injuries to insects by piercing thorns into their bodies. Those thorns have now appeared as bed of arrows to him to endure with.

Now we got to understand that this incident has indeed justified the statement “As you Sow so you Reap”.  But what will happen to Arjuna now that he has inflicted injuries to Bhishma by piercing arrows at him. Will he have to suffer like Bhishma in any of his next births? As we all know that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Has Arjuna sown now for which he has to reap afterwards?

No, says Dharma Shastra. How is it so? The suffering part that Bhishma had to endure with was his Prarabdha Karma Phala (resultant matured fruit) as the result of inflicting injuries to insects and shooting arrows now to him was the Agami Karma (current action) of Arjuna which would yield fruit in the future births if any. But Arjuna has escaped that, how??? Simple, he did not consider himself inflicting injuries to Bhishma. He consciously was just an instrument in the hands of the Lord.

When Arjuna had the vision of the Lord as Cosmic representation, he could see the great warriors including Bhishma, Drona, Karna and all the sons of Dritharastra rushing into His mouth with their heads smashed. This is where the Lord had leaked the exam paper to Arjuna. This in fact made Arjuna to remain as Nimmita Matram (just as an instrument). These were the exact words of the Lord “nimmita matram bhava savyasachi” which were very significant. The whole world is moving according to the plan of the Absolute Consciousness. To make that plan operational there is a need for substance and we fill the gap of becoming the instruments.

In contrast if Arjuna had thought that he was fighting for the sake of the kingdom and without him the Kaurava army could not be destroyed, then it would simply become his Agami Karma for which he has to reap what he has sown. The Lord out of compassion towards His friend and brother-in-law clears the web of doubts and asks him to fight without an iota of doer-ship. The result is already destined only the participants are required says the Lord. At that Arjuna is neither the doer nor the enjoyer.

Lord revealed the answer to the question before Arjuna had to attempt it …….. If I surrender to Him he will be compassionate to show the same grace to me also…..What say????????
