195. Things that we get know when in Spiritual Path……………

Brahman is Eternal Truth; Maya is Relative Truth, it creates delusion and illusion which in turn causes confusion in us. Delusion is erroneous beliefs and ideas while illusion is deceptive perception. If illusion is one that fools the mind and delusion is something one perceives to be truth even when others disagree with it. Illusion is a concern of mind, and delusion is a concern of belief. Self is Eternal Truth, intellect, mind and body is Relative Truth.

Intellect is the faculty of discrimination to judge between what is good and bad. Mind is the mental faculty that processes the information got from the sense organs. Mind depends on the senses to receive data and on intellect to analyse the data. Hence it is the mind that makes one wise or ignorant, bound, or liberate. Mind and intellect of an individual functions without any coordination. This leads to stress, strain, confusion, and tension. Intellect always warns the mind of consequences but mind does not heed to it. Mind provoked by Vasanas (Tendencies) and Samskara (Impressions) goes out to the world of sensuality and experiences. Mind and intellect are two sides of the same coin that is our own true self. Mind is of two-fold. Pure and as well as impure; Impure because it is blended with desires and pure from being free from desire. It is quite natural for the mind to go after the worldly objects.

It is as natural as water flows naturally from higher altitude to lower altitude. Our purpose of life is to get this mind to stop running after the worldly objects. A Blissful person is the one who understands that the objects outside him can never get him Eternal happiness. It is required to get the water from the lower altitude to higher altitude for such a thing to happen we have to use energy and efforts to pump it up. When we want to guide the mind away from this illusory world we have to make a little effort. In fact every night at sleep it goes away from this world. First the mind goes to the dreaming state and then from dream state to sound sleep or dreamless state. But we have to send this mind to the dreamless sleep state while we are awake, can we do so?????

Yes, by not overloading mind with wantons and desires. Overloading mind with lots of stray thoughts will not allow us to focus on the task in our hands. Concentration sets in if irrelevant distractions are ignored. Meditation is a traditional medium of merging our mind with Self and allowing an opportunity to establish a dialogue with the inner Self, by detaching the mind of external influences and by muting the inner conflict through mantras or controlled breathing.

Sage Patanjali in his Yoga Sutra observes that “By observing our breath, we can observe the thought process in the mind” When our mind get to know any unusual disturbing news, our breath becomes abnormal, we starts breathing rapidly, a little heavily. When the anxiety dies down, the breath again becomes normal. By controlling our breath we can control our mind. When mind is awake, there is this world; otherwise there is no world as far as we are concern. It is wisdom to control our mind and identify with our inner Self to be free from anger, passion, likes and dislikes. With this kind of detachment we are merged with Brahman.

AND BE ALWAYS BLISSFUL………..
