169. Parinamavada, Theory Of Transformation…...….!

This is in continuation of the blog "Adhyaasavada, Theory of Superimposition" The quest to know the origin of creation has made the Sankya and Yoga Philosophies to justify Parinamavada, the theory of Transformation. This theory justifies the evolution of the Karya (effect) from the Karana (cause) and supports the statement that nothing is permanent and a constant change is an intrinsic part of life. Every cause has an effect and the effect is already ingrained in the cause, just as the milk gets transformed into curds. A person brings a flowering plant and put it in a pot and nurtures it daily by watering the plant. He is happy that the plant is growing and yielding fragrance filled flowers. Days pass and it is almost six months since the person had planted the plant. Now the plant that was about one foot when he had planted has grown up to three to four feet and one day he thinks of re-potting the plant. He carefully pulls out the plant from the pot, to his astonishment he finds pot bound roots and there is no soil at all. Now where did the soil go??????? The soil in fact over the period of time has got transformed into the plant. Karya is the effect that could be seen and is the real transformation of the Karana (cause). This is similar to the theory of the Primordial Atom (Hiranyagarbha) unstoppably emanating itself to become this universe.

When milk vigorously shaken foam is formed and if the foam is the effect, the cause for it is the milk. Without milk there is no foam. Likewise for this created universe to come into existence there is Brahman as the cause. Brahman according to Upanishads is the cause of everything. It Says “From which all these elements have come, by which all these are sustained and unto which all these go back, understand that to be Brahman.” So Brahman which is the Karana (cause) is Sat (Truth) and the Jagat that is the Karya (Effect) is Mithya (Unreal). Hence Self is the Karana (Cause) and therefore it is Sat, while the Body, Mind, and Intellect is the Karya (effect) so they are Mithya (unreal). The Karya (effect) will veil the Karana (cause) and this happens due to Maya (illusion). The Self is veiled by the BMI (Body Mind Intellect) just like the foam veiling the milk. If the Karya (effect) is not separate from the Karana (cause) then the cause and effect cannot be seen as two different things all together. Right?????? The effect is not separate form the cause and the cause, being what it is, is independent of the effect.
