152. Is it Essential to be a Hypocrite to Live?????

Hypocrites is a person who conceals his intentions to him selves but projects the content in a different way. A hypocrite is a person who writes a book glorifying atheism and prays to God for the success of the book. There should always be a harmony in what we think, say, and do if there is no harmony then one is a hypocrite. Hypocrisy takes birth from self centeredness and lack of frankness. It is very interesting to find that the word hypocrisy originated in ancient Greek and was meant acting. In their leisure time they would form groups and enact a play and the person who is an actor would personify the character and the viewers were new to this type of social contract and they understood that the person who is playing the character was being hypocritical. This was purely for entertainment and to please the audience only. Unfortunately this word hypocrite which was restricted to an actor who dons the role has made a giant leap from actors in the play to anyone, anywhere, who is hiding their intentions, or who is pretending in public to gain sympathy, or to prove to be clever and cultured or from some high-class background. Is it wrong to be a hypocrite?????? Some say it is alright to be a hypocrite as long as no harm is intended but done to gain some advantage. This is understandable as being hypocrisy has become a standard approach for one on a romantic date or for one who has a job interview. Here is a clear cut example of people hiding their true feelings, personality, and intentions in order to gain a competitive advantage as every one is expected to put his best efforts. And also there is a saying “Every thing is fair in love and war.”Now what started as a weapon to gain advantage if pursued further will be a habit which would make a person not trust worthy. Some might argue that if we are not hypocritical we may reveal our character defect. But then all of us are like that to some degree. None of us live up to our ideals all the time. It is not only that we have done some thing to conceal our character in public by being hypocritical, but we intend to judge other persons character in the same way. Some men talk about their friend weakness with their wife to prove that they are better, and at the same time maintain friendly relationship with that particular friend. Some times a person talks about his wife and the way she nags in the house, but is hypocritical as he would never tell her to change her attitude. Even the wife may feel that the attitude of her husband needs to chance but she cannot tell him but will take it in the stride. When one is true in his thought, word, and deed he has no such problem. What say????????
